Pape'r'us: scanning the present future past of paper

A member of the anthrodesign listserve recently brought up the topic of the future of paper.  The listserve is a group of design researchers, many of whom are anthropologists, reflecting on a wide range of ideas about the relationship between people, practices, and artifacts. I value it immensely for it's depth and quality.  The question was posed by a research manager who was reflecting on the behaviors of his own team while they investigated a retail user experience and surveys with over 15,000 customers.
